Masterson’s Lounge, situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my latest trip at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I discovered behind its threshold was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of Affairs: Unhygienic and Neglected
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The surfaces were tacky , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and neglected washrooms suffused the entire pub. Reeking of a mixture of ammonia , old age and sickness . The bar area , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages .
